Internship for and nature guides at Wanderlust.ee
For several years now, we have organized an internship competition in October to find the most motivated candidates for internship positions. This year five students were awarded internships, one of whom had also interned with us last season. We will now introduce all those who are learning with us and gaining experience as nature guides this season.

TATJANA SIIPAN
Tatjana studies nature guiding at Haapsalu Vocational Centre in her second year and has been involved in nature photography for years. This hobby has often taken her hiking and led to the realization that working in nature could become her profession. She has led hikes for children and gained experience organizing adult trips and team events. These experiences have given her valuable knowledge on how to engage and support different target groups, and shown how much joy it brings to guide people into nature. Tatjana has a positive attitude, is a good communicator and a team player, enjoying both being active in nature and being among people. She is responsible, eager to learn, and ready to contribute and gain experience from experienced hiking guides to become an even better guide. Tatjana believes that an internship at Wanderlust will help combine her knowledge, experience, and love for nature to provide meaningful experiences in Estonian nature in the future.

KADI JÜRIMÄE
If anyone can combine a teacher’s warm and empathetic heart, an open traveler’s spirit, and a deep understanding of nature, it’s Kadi. After decades of working as a classroom teacher, she decided to follow the inspiration brought by a life-changing experience – a bogshoe hike organized by Wanderlust. That trip made her realize that her next step was to become a nature guide. Kadi has a background in geography and sees stories and lessons in nature in addition to landscapes. Her skill in guiding groups and creating a safe and inspiring learning environment makes her someone whose lead is easy and pleasant to follow in nature.

SIIM PÕLDSALU
“I’m Siim, and I study to become a nature guide at Luua Forestry School. I enjoy taking people into nature and offering experiences that help them step away from everyday life for a moment and truly be present.
I have a diverse background in IT as well as in cultural and youth work. I have been involved in organizing various events, which has given me good communication skills, the ability to maintain a positive atmosphere in stressful situations, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
I consider myself flexible and creative, eager to learn and take on new challenges. Working in nature, engaging with young people, and guiding people are areas that give me the most energy. I believe the best experiences come from collaboration and a positive mood.
My goal is to grow into a strong member of the nature guide community and to provide people with valuable and memorable experiences in Estonian nature – whether on foot, bogshoes, in a canoe, or on SUP trips.”

TRIINU RÄPPO
Triinu studies nature guiding at Luua Forestry School in her second year. Her passion for nature and hiking has grown step by step – with each hike and every moment spent in nature. She wants to better understand the environment around us and share that experience and joy of discovery with others.
Triinu works daily in the medical field, collaborating with an international team. This work environment has developed her flexibility, determination, and teamwork skills, which help her understand both people and situations. These are skills that are especially useful in nature guide work.
Triinu’s strengths include a positive and calm attitude and attentiveness to people. She enjoys working in a team and values balance and harmony – both in work and in nature.
Her favorites are multi-day backpacking trips, but she feels equally at home on snowshoes or on a bike. For Triinu, every hike is an opportunity to experience something new and profound about herself and nature.

ANDRES ARENDI
Andres studies nature guiding at Luua Forestry School and hopes to offer people experiences that help them build a deeper connection with nature. He has previous experience organizing hikes for friends and colleagues, and he has assisted as a nature guide both at children’s camps and on adventures with his own friend group. In addition to his passion for hiking, Andres is active in community work – he has taken part in various projects and helped organize festivals, enjoying the chance to inspire and engage people.
Andres spent his first internship season at Wanderlust actively hiking and gaining hands-on experience. The most memorable moment of that season was a hike in Viru Bog, where he introduced the richness of Estonian nature to the presidents of Estonia and Botswana.
He decided to stay with Wanderlust for his second internship season for several reasons:
– Wanderlust is a modern and well-run company that offers interns rapid opportunities for growth;
– He received a proposal to continue the collaboration;
As Andres himself says, these are practical and pragmatic reasons – and at the same time a clear sign that he feels good and supported within the Wanderlust team.
