Unforgettable Summer Days at Vihula Manor: Elcogen’s Team Adventure
At Wanderlust, we are dedicated to creating unique and memorable outdoor team events. This summer, we had the pleasure of helping organize Elcogen’s summer days at Vihula Manor. The goal was to promote collaboration, inspire team spirit, and provide a refreshing and fun break from everyday work. The manor’s beautiful green surroundings were the perfect setting for our carefully selected activities, resulting in a day filled with surprises, challenges, and unforgettable moments.
A Day of Adventure and Teamwork
The participants were divided into teams and had to navigate the Vihula Manor grounds, solving various tasks at checkpoints. These activities tested not only creative thinking and hands-on skills but also the ability to overcome fears. The day’s highlights included balancing on a slackline over water, racing on SUP boards, and tackling a course on electric fatbikes. Each challenge was designed to encourage teamwork, push participants out of their comfort zones, and, of course, provide plenty of entertainment.
The Value of Summer Days for Team Building
We spoke with Kadri Kruusaauk, People & Culture at Elcogen, to gain insight into the value Elcogen places on summer days and to hear how the participants enjoyed this year’s activities.

1. What value does Elcogen aim to create for its team through summer days?
The goal of summer days is to relax together, get to know each other better, discover what connects us and what sets us apart, and in doing so, create a solid foundation for collaboration. This year’s theme was ‘One Team,’ which is one of Elcogen’s four core values,” Kadri explained.
2. Why did you decide, as an international company, to hold your summer days in Estonia and at Vihula Manor for the second year in a row?
“With 75% of Elcogen’s employees based in Estonia, it’s simply more practical and cost-effective to hold the event in Estonia, within 60-80 km of Tallinn. We chose Vihula for its location, compact layout, and the great experience we had there last year,” said Kadri.

3. How do you ensure that colleagues from 20 different nationalities have opportunities to connect and interact during large events like this?
“Team-building elements are a great way to make that happen. The key is how we organize the teams and engage everyone. It’s also important to leave enough time for informal conversations,” Kadri emphasized.
4. Traditionally, summer days also include outdoor activities and games. How do you choose activities that suit such a diverse group of participants?
“I like to keep participants intrigued by offering surprises and opportunities to challenge themselves. This works especially well with team-based activities, where not everyone may enjoy the task, but together they find a solution. It helps to ‘practice’ functioning as one team. But it’s crucial to consider the audience (age, gender, etc.),” Kadri explained.

5. This year, we organized a custom orienteering game for your summer days, where teams had to complete various tasks at checkpoints. What was the participants’ feedback on the game?
“The feedback was positive because many tasks required pushing personal boundaries or trying something new, like slacklining, SUP boarding, and fatbiking. The fatbike course became a particular favorite, with many participants wishing for a longer track. Watching the different video and photo tasks during dinner added an extra fun element to the whole event,” Kadri shared.
6. This was our first time partnering with you to organize your summer days. What stood out most to you about this collaboration?
“Flexibility, professionalism, and creativity!” Kadri said.
